Let's Play Too!

Co-founders James Leonard and Nelson Brown are students at Athens High School in Athens, Alabama. We started this group in 2021. We were cleaning out James' garage and didn't know what to do with baseball gear from years of playing youth baseball. We realized that most of our friends also had gear that was in great shape and no one knew how to get it to younger players. We reached out to the Athens Rec Center Youth Baseball team and they encouraged us to collect gear. They helped us decide to give the gear away when the youth players came out for their evaluations to start the new season. We were so surprised by the outpouring of support from the community and loved meeting the younger players. We quickly realized that we would support the youth softball players as well. We gave our group a name based on the famous Chicago Cubs double header saying: Let's play two. 

If you have baseball or softball gear that you would like to donate please email us and we will come and pick it up. If you would like to donate a cash donation we will use it to purchase new regulation bats for youth players. 

Come to the Athens Sportsplex  and pick it up for free. If you have a high school team that could use gear please email us and we will work out a time to come to you.
